2. JOB PURPOSE

  • To provide with full responsibility and accountability, the supervision on Electrical to achieve reliable operation. Provide directions to the troubleshooting, repair, inspection, modification, commissioning of Electrical systems, Equipment and related systems as per company procedures, vendor recommendations, standards, procedural/legislative requirements and the best of engineering practices. Train and develop the team

4. Description

  • Ensure all relevant safety, Quality, environmental and PSM procedures are followed.
  • Support the provision of the safe work environment to subordinates by issuing proper materials, PPEs, tools and special safety equipment, where required. Promote Safety awareness among instrument technicians through regular Safety talks. Ensure that all procedural /legislative requirements are fulfilled.
  • To perform religiously the calibration and preventive maintenance programs for electrical Maintain updated work instructions and check sheets for Calibration.
  • To support Electrical Specialist / engineer developing maintenance strategy to resolve the critical problems with the instruments and ensure their reliable operation without any plant downtime. Suggest and implement necessary technical improvements.
  • Maintain the Equipment failure history. Review the electrical history, analyse chronic failures and problems, conduct root cause analysis and suggest necessary modifications for recovery.
  • To assist electrical Specialist / Engineer in reviewing critical and non-critical spares for instruments. Follow up with planning section to ensure the required availability of spares, consumables and materials.
  • Train and develop a team of technically competent electrical technicians capable of delivering the section objectives in terms of SHE, engineering standards, costs and equipment reliability.
  • Ensure planning and execution of plant shutdowns and turnaround within budget and planned time.
  • Liaison communication with other departments /sections, contractors and vendors etc. as required for timely execution of related jobs.
  • Plan, allocate and supervise the calibration, preventive & corrective maintenance and first line trouble shooting activities on Field Instrumentation.

5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Internal:

  • Electrical / AED, on a regular basis, to remain updated of progress versus individual and functional targets, to discuss any pertinent issues and to be notified of any operational incidents.
  • Other Maintenance Services sections, on an as-needs basis, to coordinate multi-disciplinary maintenance jobs.
  • Liaison with Operations, Engineering & MED departments to ensure that activities are carried out as planned.
  • With Production, Engineering and other Supervisors of the department.

External:

  • With OEM, Vendors, supplier and service providers on technical discussion.

 

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical or a related discipline. 

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Electrical maintenance, preferably within petrochemical Plants.
