Brief Job Description:

  • Execute purchase requisitions for materials in accordance with approved specifications, delivery requirements, and established procurement procedures.
  • Source qualified vendors, obtain competitive quotations, and perform commercial evaluations to ensure best value, quality, and delivery.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) and monitor order progress, expediting where necessary to meet project and operational schedules.
  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations, inspection, logistics, and warehouse teams to clarify material requirements and resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Review vendor documentation, certifications, inspection requirements in line with industry and contractual standards.
  • Resolve discrepancies in pricing, quantity, delivery, invoicing in with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier data, and reporting within the ERP/system.
  • Support supplier performance management and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes.

 

 

Education:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in materials procurement, preferably within the oil & gas, petrochemical industries 
  • Familiarity with technical materials, industry codes, and documentation commonly used in petrochemical operations.
  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP Ariba).

 

Skills:

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent coordination and relationship-building abilities with suppliers, contractors, and internal departments.
  • Good understanding of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), quality assurance, and ethical procurement standards.
  • Proficiency in procurement processes, contract administration, and supplier performance management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
